Look Alikes/Inspiration Chapter
01
Inspiration: When I was designing my main heroines in my stories back in the 90's I usually stuck with the same template: Red hair. Wears red/pink. Casts super strong Fire magic! I was completely inspired from Lina Inverse from the Slayers series... This theme stuck when I created Kirsche! The fiery fire mage takes a lot from Lina... the orbs especially... The only thing she lacks is the breast-complex. Kirsche has plenty of that.
Look-alike: While chatting with my sister, she showed me the new Final Fantasy IV sequel's characters, and I was FLOORED at the similarities in Porom's new design! Even with green orbs!
Inspiration: I've always loved Winged-helmets on Valkyries... so when I went in to designing Kirsche's pillar form, I was obviously inspired by Riese from Secret of Mana 3. [Metal-bikini and all!]
Inspiration: I've used Forte in many of my male mage designs. A couple of characters from my first major comic, Time Twisters, used Forte's likeness... But Azul sticks out as the major one. You can tell by the general look: Head bandana, oversized cloak, orb staff. I didn't think about it until now but I've made his newly redesigned Pillar look to be, well, what Forte looks like when he is powered up in the game, as well.
Inspiration: I've only recently redesigned Azul's hairstyle, I wanted it to be more than just the "centerfold" so I extended the length of the bangs... much like Nikki from Chrono Cross! His look is also inspired by a... future issue soon to come. [hint: J-Rocker Azul? Why, yes...]
Inspiration: One of the things I love is when a game hits me so hard in the head, and in this case it's Secret of Mana 3. Charlotte's design was just, too darling to pass up... so I was definitally inspired by her when creating Geld. Even down to the ball-n-chain spiked-mace and her gruffy huffy attitude. Geld is my nod to all of those spunky children-characters that I love playing oh-so-much!
Look-alike: While playing Chrono Cross, when I delved into the prehistoric island, and encountered Leah? I was floored at her resemblance to Geld! Even do the hair! God, she's too cute.
Inspiration: No, I am not kidding... The idea behind Luz's hair... ness came from the Rockjumper Penguin. The colors, though, are based off of Chrono's from the Bloody Roar series. Do not ask.
Inspiration: If it weren't obviously obvious. From her armor design, boobs, even to the obnoxious laugher - Web was the ideal suitor to my fetish with Naga the White Serpent, hence why she is also one of my favorite characters in 3 Pillars.
Inspiration: Yup, another SoM3 inspiration! Web's likeness is part of Angela too. The boistrous princess's attitude, including ass-slapping and all, is heavily influenced on Web! [It also helps that she is an elf!]
Inspiration: Joker was a direct inspiration for Wreck. In his initial designs, I pretty much drew Joker... you can see this from the triangle designs on the fringe, and the white bodysuit. And much like Jun, Wreck was actually female in his initial design [hah!] I've tried to seperate the design somewhat, they're similar but not exact anymore... But what I've always kept with Wreck, though: that awesome smile.
Inspiration: When going back, thinking about evil jesters and whatnot, the colorscheme is obvious: Wreck = Reala. Although I was never a HUGE fan of NiGHTS the character stuck out to me. What's better is that Reala wasn't a puny weakling of a jester - look at him, he's all decked out and MUSCULAR. So I carried that along when I created Wreck. More characters to come! |
